Conveniently located near I-35 and the Toll Roads Wells Branch is a popular Austin spot amongst those that work in Round Rock and North/Northwest Austin.
In the heart of it all is the Wells Branch Park and Homestead (Katherine Fleischer Park). From soccer to a large playground to the historical homestead tours, the Katherine Fleischer Park is a favorite amongst neighborhood residences. The park includes lap pools, jogging trails, a gazebo and several picnic areas. There is room to practice yoga and exercise in the park. The east section of the park is home to a great frisbee golf course!
The west section of Wells Branch includes Mills Pond. Mills Pond is a fully stocked fishing pond with walking trails and a meditation garden. There are also places to have a picnic in this area.
Wells Branch is a very active community. The park allows many to gather for events and recreation. Some homes even back up to the creek and park, a very charming aspect to the area.

Wells Branch MUD Austin
What is a MUD? Municipal Utility District. Quite a few north east Austin communities and Round Rock are a part of a MUD. In a way it’s an association that organizes the utilities in that neighborhood. Similar to an home owners association, a board is created to oversee how utilities are provided and an extra fund is collected to maintain the board. This extra fund is collected via property taxes.
However, the Wells Branch MUD is organized a bit different. They have taken the idea of a MUD and expanded it to include services that would normally be regulated strictly to an Home Owner’s Association. Therefore several amenities are provided through the organized MUD, not just utilities. Amenities such as park maintenance, a club house, a fitness center and neighborhood events, are provided through the Wells Branch MUD. This helps distinguish this community from other north Austin communities and provides a sense of community in addition to amenities.

Wells Branch Dining
Residents of Wells Branch are fond of the many restaurants offered along Wells Branch Parkway, they are easy to spot and there are loads of choices. But one of the best kept secretes is the shopping center at Bratton Lane. There is a huge variety of dining options over here, some of my favorites are Oasis Pizza which is a Mediterranean spot with fantastic pizza, Polvo’s Mexican and Garbo’s Lobster and Dining. You may know of Polvo’s from their famous South First location. Along with great dining there are some other fantastic finds in this little tucked away shopping center.
